I would say, "so far so good", but others definitely don't agree.

As of this point in the year, a mere 22 days into 2017, things around me have been going exactly as I had hoped. I have managed to complete 1 knitting project, the class I teach is going to be amazing this year due to my colleague's help with making it more communicative, and I have finally seen the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The last has definitely been the highlight, not only because they were one of the few bands left on my bucket list, but also because Flea is amazing. Honestly, with the exception of this nasty cold, this year has been a good one thus far.

....except for the fact that Trump was inaugurated. Let me get this out of the way first. I didn't vote for him. I didn't vote for anyone for President this election (which is funny, as it was the first time I have been eligible to vote and not in a country with a postal system I didn't trust), because I honestly believed that all of the candidates were... from the bottom of the barrel.

Here's the thing, most Americans need to act like human beings. Not like Neo-Nazis. Not like selfish, entitled brats. Like people. The only way for someone to prove you right or wrong is to give them a chance to do so, but no one is giving President Trump that opportunity. Both sides have been terrible. They need to grow up. And for those who expect Trump to do one way or the other, I am going to share some wise words from Colin Moriarty from Kinda Funny. "SET THE BAR HIGH!!"

I actually do agree with Jeb Bush on this (which I never thought would come from me), that all form of protests can be good. Both violent and non violent because they bring light to the issues. However, if you are going to protest, all I ask is that you give it at least a month.

For the sake of my own frustration at many people, I will end this here. Perhaps I will pick it up again later.
